Levante vs Real Madrid: how and where to watch - times, TV, online

All the information you need on how to watch Levante face Real Madrid in matchday 2 of LaLiga from the Estadio Ciutat de Valencia this Sunday, 22 August.

Levante UD - Real Madrid (LaLiga 2021/22)

Both Levante UD boss Paco Lopez and his Real Madrid counterpart Carlo Ancelotti would have been happy with their spoils from matchday one in LaLiga with 'Els Granotes' securing a point away to Cadiz and Madrid overwhelming Alaves in the Basque capital as part of a 1-4 win.

In their past three meetings in the Spanish league, Levante have recorded two wins and contests between both sides in Valencia are always keenly fought battles.

Real Madrid go into the game looking to maintain their run of 19 games in LaLiga unbeaten and Lopez will look to Roger and Morales to provide the attacking threat with new signing and former Real Madrid player Soldado injured.

Luka Modric is Real Madrid's key absentee with the Croatian veteran sustaining a abductor problem earlier in the week. The midfielder maestro joins Toni Kroos in the sick bay.

Ancelotti pre-game

The thrust of the questions from journalists ahead of Madrid's trip to Valencia focused heavily on a possible acquisition of Mbappé with just ten days remaining in the summer transfer window.

Ancelotti was unmoved on Saturday, speaking ahead of the trip to Levante, by the suggestion Mbappé could arrive in the coming days.

"The atmosphere in the dressing room is very good because the players are focused on the work they are doing and they are not talking about the market," he said. "You only talk about the matches and I don't know if everyone then thinks about this.

"I talk to the club every day and the idea that the club have about the future is the same as I have. But I don't think it's fair to talk about it here."

Ancelotti, who has won all four of his LaLiga games against Levante, added: "I don't care what's going to happen in the next few days.

"I have a very good squad that I really want to train with and I'm only focused on the team I have."

Paco Lopez pre-game

The Levante boss was bullish in his press conference claiming that Real Madrid had come to respect his side given recent games between both teams.

"When one faces the likes of Real Madrid or Barcelona, mistakes can be cruelly punished and some may think that we make beating Madrid look easy but make no mistake of the challenge ahead on Sunday".

The late game on Sunday will see approximately 12,000 fans back in the Ciutat de Valencia stadium.
