The game promises to be an exciting one with interesting match-ups, as both squads boast top notch players.

Chiefs and Browns both motivated to win

The Chiefs had a 14-2 record last season and lost the Super Bowl to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-9. Cleveland was eliminated by Kansas City 22-17 on the second round of the playoffs.

Cleveland is motivated to beat the team that kicked them out of the playoffs last season, but it seems the odds are against them. The Browns are facing quite a challenge as they have not won a game in Week 1 since 2004, and that victory was their only opening week win since 1994.

Also, they have lost to the Chiefs in three straight games since 2013. Head Coach Andy Reid is 7-0 in his career against the Browns, which is one of three teams he is undefeated against.

Kevin Stefanski could lead the team to pose a threat to the Chiefs, as he had an 11-5 record last year in his first year as NFL head coach. This was the biggest number of wins for the squad since 1994.

Kansas City: favored to win

Meanwhile, the Chiefs want to erase the memory of their Super Bowl loss in front of their fans. Their 14 wins in 2020 set a franchise record, and they played in the Super Bowl for the second straight season. The team is favored to represent the AFC at the February final showdown once again.

Statistics show that if the Chiefs have truly been able to fix their pass protection, they are likely to reach the Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes is a highly effective quarterback with a great ability to improvise. Kansas City must not be complacent simply because the odds are in their favor.

With a lot of motivation to win on both sides, the match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cleveland Browns promises to be one of the most thrilling ones in the first week of the NFL season.
