PGA Legend Tiger Woods is the latest athlete to release NFTs

The 11 time PGA player of the year joins the likes of Tom Brady and Wayne Gretzky as he unveils a collection of unique digital memorabilia

Tiger Woods is the most recent high profile athlete to join the NFT craze, officially announcing the release of his own collection of digital memorabilia.

As new digital trends take hold, modern day athletes are changing the way they market themselves to the public.

Tiger Woods goes digital

As society comes to grips with the effect of emerging digital trends, one such trend is growing in popularity amongst high profile athletes and that is the nonfungible token (NFT) In the latest example, legendary golfer Tiger Woods has announced that he will be unveiling an NFT collection via a company called Autograph - which was co-founded by Tom Brady - in tandem with famous collecting card maker, Upper Deck.

The 11 time PGA player of the year Woods, sits on the Autograph advisory board alongside other high profile athletes such as skateboard pioneer Tony Hawk, former Yankees star Derek Jeter, NHL 'goat' Wayne Gretzky, record breaking US gymnast Simone Biles and tennis star Naomi Osaka. To date Autograph has already released NFTs for Brady, Gretzky and the majority of the other athletes on the board.

"It's been an honor to join their advisory board among so many iconic athletes, and I'm looking forward to bringing fans closer to my memorable sports moments at an accessible price, and to the game I respect so much."

The "premier" edition as called by Autograph was released Tuesday through a collaboration with the DraftKings marketplace. Additionally Woods will release a digitally autographed version that goes public on Sept 28th. The initial collection will offer 10,000 digital pictures of Woods ranging in price from $12 to $100. There will only be 375 units available at the $100 price point. In total Autograph intends to release only 300 NFTs with a digital version of Woods' signature; these will range from $250 to $1,500.
