El Salvador vs Mexico live online

El Salvador go into Wednesday's game against table topping desperately in need of a win to maintain their hopes of securing one of the three automatic places that would guarantee a ticket to Qatar next November.

The El Salvador-Mexico will be held at the Cuscatlán stadium in San Salvador on Wednesday evening at 8:05 p.m. local time (04:05 CEST on Thursday).

El Savador 'battling'

Salvadoran "Selecta" boss Hugo Pérez, acknowledged that a victory against the Mexican squad is "difficult." and considered that from now on the games will see his side "fighting" to maintain the options to fight for a place in the World Cup.

However, Pérez also looked further own the line and confirmed that he has his sights set on a top four finish and the road to this achievement starts with a win over Gerardo Martino's side tonight.

"We are in a situation in which we are still fighting for something" and with "the illusion of being able to get into the first four (of the octagonal), because if we can beat Mexico we get into that little group again," said Pérez in a interview on local radio.

"El Tri" confident

Unbeaten Mexico head into the El Salvador clash on the back of a solid 3-0 victory over Honduras which puts "El Tri" top of the Concacaf group with 11 points.

El Salvador recorded a 1-2 away defeat in San Jose to Costa Rica at the weekend and will hope that a hostile environment at their Estadio Cuscatlán will provide added firepower in overcoming Mexico.

Mexican central player Sebastián Córdova, speaking to local media outlets claimed that the game in San Salvador, was "bloody tricky".
