NFL week 6 highlights: scores, updates, big wins and losses

Week 6 of the NFL was full of tight contests, including three overtime games, while the Arizona Cardinals remain undefeated going into Week 7.

It was a wild Week 6 that featured three overtime games, an instant classic to end the week, and Aaron Rodgers still owning the Chicago Bears. Let’s take you back through the what was a very entertaining weekend in the NFL.

Bucs vs Eagles

It all started on Thursday night when the Philadelphia Eagles gave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers all they could handle in Lincoln Financial Field. The Bucs dominated for the first two and a half quarter, but Justin Fields almost lead a comeback for the ages after the sparking the offense to life late in the second half. In the end Brady and the Bucs held on to win their fifth game of the season, and they continue to look like worth candidates to go back-to-back.

Jags vs Dolphins

The Jacksonville Jaguars finally got their first win of the season, and their first win after 20 straight losses. Trevor Lawrence threw for 319 yards and a touchdown, but it was kicker Matt Wright who won the Florida derby in London.

Chargers vs Ravens

Baltimore crushed the Chargers in one of the spotlight games of the weekend. The Ravens ran for nearly 200 yards as Lamar Jackson and company moved to 5-1 on the year, and dropped the Chargers to 4-2.

Rams vs Giants

The Los Angeles Rams traveled east and took down the New York Giants in the Meadowlands. Matt Stafford passed for four touchdowns and the Rams defense forced the Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones into three interceptions to win 38-11 on the road.

Texans vs Colts

The Indianapolis Colts got a divisional win over the Houston Texans courtesy of 145 yards and two touchdowns as Indy outscored the the Texans 21-0 in the second half.

Chiefs vs Washington Football Team

The Kansas City Chiefs shook off a slow start against the Washington Football Team as Patrick Mahomes flirted with another 400 yard game and passed for two touchdowns. The Chiefs moved to 3-3 after pitching a second half shutout, outscoring Washington 21-0 in the final two quarters.

Bengals vs Lions

The Cincinnati Bengals blanked the Detroit Lions for the first three quarters as they rolled to victory in Ford Field. Joe Burrow threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns, and Joe Mixon had 94 yards on the ground as the Bengals improved to 4-2 and there are whispers about the Bengal being a dark horse in the AFC.

Cardinals vs Browns

The Arizona Cardinals remain the only undefeated team in the league after a 37-14 whooping of the Browns in Cleveland. The Cardinals handled the potential trap game out east with ease as Kyler Murray threw four touchdowns against a battered Browns side.

Raiders vs Broncos

The Las Vegas Raiders got out to a huge early lead and held off the division rival Denver Broncos. The Raiders were up 31-10 at the end of the third quarter, as the Raiders shook off a turbulent week off the field with a win in the Mile High City, moving to 4-2 on the year.

Packers vs Bears

Aaron Rodgers message to the Chicago Bears, and their fans was clear. It was a tight NFC North contest as to be expected, but the Packers closed the door on the Bears with a Rodgers touchdown run late in the fourth. The Packers moved to 5-1 and Rogers let the fans in Chicago know ”I still own you.”

Vikings vs Panthers

The Minnesota Vikings beat the Carolina Panthers in the first of three overtime games in Week 6. Kirk Cousins threw for 373 yards including the game winning walk off TD pass to K.J. Osborn.

Cowboys vs Patriots

The Dallas Cowboys pulled off an overtime thriller in New England over the Patriots. A late game pick six by Trevon Diggs was quickly answered by the Pats with a Kendrick Bourne 75 yard touchdown catch and run to for the game to overtime. Dak Prescott’s third touchdown found it’s way into the arms of CeeDee Lamb who ended the game in the extra session.

Seahawks vs Steelers

The Russell Wilsonless Seattle Seahawks battled back against the Pittsburgh Steelers after going to half time down 14-0. The Steelers scored just six points in the second half allowing Geno Smith and the Seahawks to send the game to OT. Smith was stripped deep in Seattle territory, setting up the game winning 37 yard Chris Boswell field goal.

Bills vs Titans

The final game of the week came down to the final play of the game. The Buffalo Bills and the Tennessee Titans exchanged blows in a Monday night that saw seven lead changes. In the end it was a defensive stop by the Titans on fourth and inches at the 3 yard line that evened both teams up to 4-2 on the year.
