After two long months of little NFL offseason action, the league returns with the 2026 NFL Draft this Thursday when all 32 teams will make their selections from the top college prospects. The Las Vegas Raiders have the top overall pick this year, but after they make their selection, anything could happen with several teams expected to trade up and down in this year’s draft.

When and where is the 2026 NFL Draft?

The 2026 NFL Draft will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania outside Acrisure Stadium from April 23-25. The North Shore of the Allegheny River outside the stadium will be used as the Draft Theater and Main Stage.

  • Rounds 2-3: Friday, April 24 - 7 p.m. ET
  • Rounds 4-7: Saturday, April 25 - 12 p.m. ET

This year, teams will have eight minutes to make their selections, shortened from 10 minutes in previous years.

Which player is expected to be the first overall pick?

Quarterback Fernando Mendoza out of Indiana is widely expected to be the first overall pick by the Las Vegas Raiders, who are still in search of a franchise QB.

Mendoza cemented himself as the top quarterback in the class during his time with the Hoosiers, leading the program to a national championship while also winning the Heisman Trophy. The 6′5″ passer combined high-level production with prototypical size and arm strength, emerging as one of the most complete prospects in the draft.
