Halloween seems to pop up on most of us each year. Whether you have decided to attend a Halloween party at the last minute or you want to take your kids trick-or-treating in costume, we’ve got fast and easy solutions for you.

1. The ghost costume

You can never go wrong dressing up as a ghost, and it’s likely you have got all the materials you need right at home. Simply look for a white sheet, a pair of scissors, a black marker, and black shoes around your home. Drape the sheet over your head and mark where the eyes and mouth should be. Take it off and cut a hole for your eyes, mouth, and nose. Next, draw on the scariest facial expressions you can. If you prefer not to have the sheet over your head, cut an opening for your head and draw the face on your stomach/chest area.

2. Skip the costume, and go for the makeup

Sometimes makeup is the only costume you need. It can be striking and scary all in one, so that you don’t even need a costume. Take a look at makeup artist Avani’s Instagram for some spooky Halloween inspiration.

3. Where can I get face makeup for Halloween?

You can get face makeup from your local Target, or head to a Halloween store such as Spirit Halloween near you.

4. Low battery

Some might call this a cop out costume due to its simplicity, while others might say it's creative. Check out this low battery shirt from Amazon. If you don’t have time to buy the costume, it’s time to get the scissors. You can simply put on a black or white t-shirt, buy some colored paper or use markers, and then cut or color a low battery symbol in whatever size you would like. Tape it on the shirt, and you’re good to go!

5. Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo is the pop star of the year, and she might be your costume of the year. Based off of her newest album cover, it won’t be hard to pull off the chaotic look. Olivia Rodrigo released her album, Sour, this year and the album cover sparked a lot of conversation and controversy. You can pull off the costume by purchasing fun stickers of butterflies and smiley faces. Scatter them across your face, throw on some colorful rings or necklaces and you are good to go. If you’ve got an extra white t-shirt at home, get a black marker and write the word ‘sour’ across it.

6. Spirit Halloween

There’s always a last minute trip you can take to the nearest Halloween store to get whatever costume they have available. If you can’t find a costume in your size, consider the store a trip for inspiration. You can go home and search your closet to see if you can make a costume from the clothing you already have at home.
