Al Saad: 'Xavi still has a two year contract with the club'
The Qatari club are preparing ahead of their QSL clash against Al-Ahli but took time to state their position on the rumours linking Xavi with a Camp Nou return.
Qatar Stars league leaders Al Sadd, coached by Xavi Hernández took to social media on Friday to offer their position on the rumors linking the coach to a move back to FC Barcelona. They stated that the Terrassa born coach "has a two-year contract" with the Doha based side and is "totally focused" in the next matches that the Qatari team must play.
"In response to what’s circulating recently, the #AlSadd management reaffirms that Xavi has a two-year contract with the club and is fully focused on the team’s upcoming matches, to maintain our lead at the top of the league and to defend the title" the Qatari club pointed out through social networks.
Former Barcelona player Sergi Barjuán has been confirmed as a interim replacement for the dismissed Ronald Koeman and Xavi Hernández is the number one candidate to replace the Dutch coach on the Camp Nou bench.
