Carlos Vela trying to convince Griezmann to join LAFC
The Mexican international said that he would love to play alongside the French playmaker in Major League Soccer with Los Angeles FC.
Carlos Vela and Antoine Griezmann made a great duo during their time together with LaLiga side Real Sociedad. They understood each other perfectly on the pitch and they were an attacking threat to all of the teams in Spain and in the UEFA Champions League.
“LAFC is the place”
Even though the French playmaker left Real Sociedad to join Atlético Madrid, they kept in touch because they became really good friends outside the pitch. Griezmann has also said in the past that he would love to play in Major League Soccer before he retires and Vela is trying to convince him to come sooner rather than later.
“I’m trying to bring Griezmann. We are talking and saying many times, ‘Hey, when you come to Major League Soccer, LAFC is the place,” said Vela during an Instagram live with LAFC.
However, Vela's future with Los Angeles FC is up in the air, because his contract expires in December. There have been no talks regarding extending his stay in Los Angeles, because of the two serious injuries he has suffered in the past two seasons.
