New England Revolution sets new record in MLS
With the 1-0 victory against the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday, the Revolution set a new MLS regular season points record with 73.
In 2019 the Los Angeles FC set a new record for most points at the end of the regular season with 72, but the New England Revolution has surpassed it with one game left in the 2021 MLS campaign. The Revs’ are the top seeded team in the Eastern Conference with 73 points from 33 matches palyed and they will end the season by hosting Inter Miami on 7 November.
Historic season for New England
Head coach of the Revolution, Bruce Arena, also tied with the late Sigi Schmid for the most regular-season wins with 240. Arena already holds the record for the most combined wins in the regular season and playoffs. No other coach in MLS has that many wins and it will be a tough record to break because Arena is expected to return next year.
