Carlos Vela returned to the pitch after suffering a hamstring injury in Los Angeles Football Club's 3-0 home win against the Seattle Sounders on week 33 of the 2021 MLS regular season. The Mexican international had missed 11 consecutive games due to the injury and played 12 minutes on Tuesday night at the Banc of California stadium.

“The team played with great intensity and we were all really pleased with that. Overall it was a great win and the goalkeeper Jamal Blackman made important saves. So again for me it's the collective effort and that is what you need this time of year, everyone on board,” said LAFC head coach Bob Bradley.

Bob Bradley happy to have Carlos Vela back

We were all excited to have Carlos back on the field and you could hear it in the stadium. He is such a special player and he has been an important player for the franchise since day one and he is the captain. So that is great and we need more time to keep pushing him, but this was the first step,” said LAFC head coach Bob Bradley after the game.

LAFC is keeping their playoff hopes alive with the win and with two games left of the regular season. They have entered the playoff picture and extended their unbeaten streak to five matches. The ‘Black & Gold’ will return back to action on 2 November to host Vancouver Whitecaps in the final home game of the regular season.
