The Pittsburgh Steelers rattled off their fourth straight win on Monday night after taking down the Chicago Bears. The home side needed a late Chris Boswell field goal to secure the 29-27 win after giving up a big fourth quarter lead.

Steelers jump out to lead after great field position

The Steelers actually struggled on the offensive end for most of the night, but started their first three drives with fantastic field position. Ben Roethlisberger and Pittsburgh took advantage of a short field with a couple touchdowns to jump out to a 14-0 advantage in the open half.

The Bears had nearly double the yards of the Steelers going into halftime, but Chicago went to the halftime break with just three points after Cairo Santos’ field goal late in the second quarter.

The Bears came to life after halftime, scoring a field goal and a touchdown on their next two drives, tightening the Pittsburgh lead to 20-13.

Bears comeback charge led by Fields

A Steelers field goal on the next possession and a fumble on the ensuing kick off put the home side in the drivers seat, but Chicago got a rare bit of fortune to fall their way with under seven minutes to go in the game, down 23-13. Deandre Houston-Carson scooped up a fumble after the Bears were forced to punt following a three and out. Houston-Carson took the fumble into the end zone and closed the gap to three points.

Big Ben and the Steelers punched back with a field goal to open the lead up to 6 with two and a half minutes remaining.

Wild end of the game ends in missed long field goal

Rookie quarterback Justin Fields responded yet again, leading the Bears on a seven play 75 yard touchdown drive to take the first lead of game with 1:46 to go.

Almost two minutes were more than enough for Roethlisberter to take his team into field goal range. Chris Boswell hit the 40 yard field goal with 30 seconds to go in the game.

Cario Santos had a last gasp attempt at a 65 yard field goal, but the Bears kicker came up well short in a breezy Heinze Field.

Steelers haven't lost at home on MNF since early 90's

The win over the Bears stretches the Steelers Monday Night Football home winning streak to 19 games. Pittsburgh hasn’t lost at home on primetime on Monday night since 1991.

Ben Roethlisberger has been a big part of the Steelers success on Monday nights at Heinz Field, but Big Ben was limited to 205 yard, and many of them came late in the game when the Bears forced their way back into the game.

Justin Fields outshined Big Ben with 291 yards and a touchdown, but penalties killed the Bears all night long. Chicago committed a season high 12 penalties for 115 yards. The Bears were right there at the end of the game, but self inflicted wounds led to Chicago dropping their fourth straight game.

Steelers win fourth straight, back in playoff picture

All seems to be back to normal in Steel City after a tough start to the season. They have won four straight games and are not only in the mix for a Wild Card spot, but will also be eyeing the top spot in the AFC North.
