Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb confused by NFL fines

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has expressed his confusion about the implementation of NFL fines, in reaction to the amount of the penalty that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was handed for violating covid-19 protocols.

The NFL fined the three-time MVP and Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard $14,650 each for violating the league’s coronavirus protocols when they went to a Halloween party attended by some of their teammates.

As they are both unvaccinated, the protocols prohibit them from attending gatherings outside the Green Bay facility in a group of more than three players.

Steep price for uniform violations

Meanwhile, Lamb’s fines for uniform violations alone exceed those slapped on Rodgers and Lazard. The 22-year-old has needed to pay penalties of more than $20,000 for having his jersey untucked- that’s $5,150 for the first offense, and $15,450 for the second. The next time he is fined for the same offense, he will have to pay $46,350, as the amount triples with each violation.

Lamb has also been penalized $5,150 for his socks being too low. He has been charged for a total of five violations this season, including an alleged taunting incident and an illegal block.

Lamb: I don't understand

When asked if the disparity between his fines and those of the 37-year-old quarterback annoyed him, he said, “Annoy me? Nah. Confuse me a lot? Very much so yes, I just don’t understand why I’m always the one getting fined for some reason. Untucked jersey. Socks too low. I don’t know bro, I don’t know.”

Questions have been raised as to why Lamb’s untucked jersey would merit more monetary punishment than Aaron Rodgers’ breaking covid-19 protocols and misleading people about his vaccination status, as these could have health repercussions on his team.
