Oblivious to his behavior on the court, LeBron James “inadvertently” started a fight between the Lakers and the Pistons after hitting and injuring Isaiah Stewart, which led to the suspension of both protagonists of the brawl.

Detroit’s big man was sent to his knees when James elbowed him in the face during a free throw in the third quarter.

The NBA announced Monday that LeBron would be suspended for one game, leaving him out of the Tuesday night Knicks game in Madison Square Garden. The 20-year-old, on the other hand, was suspended for two games.

Did Lebron James try to reach out to Isaiah Stewart?

In an attempt to clean up his mistake, James seemed to have sought after Stewart to further extend an apology to him, according to The Athletic.

"LeBron James tried to track down Isaiah Stewart's number after the game to apologize again to Stewart and let him know it was an unintentional hit," reported ‘The Athletic’.

Reporter Shams Charania further shared the reasoning behind the NBA’s suspensions to both players, "Stewart's suspension was for escalating an on-court altercation by repeatedly and aggressively pursuing (James) in an unsportsmanlike manner. James will return to the Lakers on Wednesday when the team will pay a visit to the Pacers. Stewart should be back in time to play against the Clippers on the road, Friday night.
