How many episodes will Hawkeye have on Disney Plus? When are they coming out?

Marvel's newest series has just started, with weekly episodes due for the next four weeks.

Last week, the new television show from the Marvel Cinematic universe (MCU) was released as Hawkeye became the latest spin-off, with two episodes already released and four more to come.

As with other Marvel TV shows, Hawkeye debut exclusively on Disney Plus, Disney’s own streaming platform.

The next episode is due out on December 1.

Who has been cast in it?

Jeremy Renner returns as the eponymous Hawkeye, aka Clint Barton, reprising a role he has held for nearly ten years. The master archer has not had his own film or series before as, to be honest, a guy with a bow and arrow probably isn't quite as marketable as people who can fly and have magic powers. Marvel, with Disney, is in such a financially secure place that they can afford to explore characters and ideas that may have taken a back seat in the MCU, including experimental ideas like What If...? earlier this year.

The other central character is Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld. She is a new addition to the MCU and offers a younger foil to the stoic Clint Barton.

"She's such a badass, there's no denying that," Steinfeld told Entertainment Weekly, "She's so smart and witty and quick and her physical ability to do so many things is through the roof. It's really tested me and kept me going through quarantine, I will say. It's given me a reason to stay with it."

Steinfeld even learned archery for the role, to better understand her character's relationship with the skill.

What is known about the plot?

The two episodes that have aired so far have delved into the backstory of the two main characters somewhat, including some callbacks to earlier MCU films. The main story is supposedly to follow the passing of the Hawkeye mantle onto Kate Bishop, but is sure to be filled with great character moments between student and mentor.

As for the timeframe, the series is set after 2019's Avengers: Endgame, where the two will have to deal with enemies from Barton's past.
