‘Choco’ Lozano scores as Cádiz fall at home to Atlético Madrid
The striker from Honduras is in top form this season in LaLiga and he netted his fifth goal of the campaign in the 4-1 defeat against ‘Los Colchoneros.’
Antony ‘Choco’ Lozano is in top form this season with Cádiz and on Sunday he scored the only goal for his team in the 4-1 defeat against Atlético Madrid for matchday 15. The striker from Honduras was able to find the back of the net in the 86th minute and netted his fifth of the campaign.
It was not a pretty goal for the No 9 player from Cádiz but it was enough to beat Jan Oblak. Lozano’s cross spun off Yanick Carrasco and it was enough to beat the goalkeeper from Atlético Madrid. Lozano has also provided three assists in 12 appearances, eight of them as a starter.
Cadiz close to the relegation zone
This is the second consecutive loss for Cádiz and they have one win in their last 10 league matches. They are not in a good place right now because they are close to the relegation zone. They sit in 17th place with 12 points and a record of 2W-6D-7L.
“I think we had a very good first half and I don’t remember any good chances from Atlético de Madrid before the break. We just have to keep going and every player needs to be at their best level. We need to win as quickly as possible to pick up points,” said Salvi Ponce, midfielder from Cádiz, during the postgame interview.
