The Thursday matchup against the New Orleans Saints will witness a shorthanded Cowboys team without many of their players and coaches, with the most recently infected being head coach Mike McCarthy, vaccinated, and offensive tackle Terence Steele

The two players and head coach join at least five other assistant coaches, all whom we will not be seeing at the Caesars Superdome. That's a total of eight current members in covid protocols.

Even though coach McCarthy will not be present in Thursday's game, he will continue to direct and be in involved in all meetings and game preparations on a virtual basis for the remainder of the week, including Thursday’s meetings in New Orleans," as shared in a statement by the Cowboys.

McCarthy tested positive

Wright, who has appeared in 10 games this season, will now be quarantined for 10 days and will have to provide two negative tests, 24 hours apart, in order to return to the Cowboys.

The Cowboys currently hold first place in the NFC East, at 7-4. However, they are not looking for a third consecutive loss against New Orleans' 5-6 record.

With 12 players and coaches missing time in the last two weeks, the Cowboys hope the former Oregon State Beaver is their last on the list.
