Winners and losers in the NFL week 14

We're another week closer to the playoffs in the NFL as week 14 has come to an end and we get ready for week 15. The obvious winners (Tom Brady) and losers (Urban Meyer) aren’t listed here because they would be on the list every week. Here are the players and coaches that stood out in week 14 as really impressive or just plain really bad.

Winners of week 14:

George Kittle

George Kittle is the best tight end in the league right now and he was a big part of the 49ers win over the Bengals in week 14. It’s not the norm for a tight end to carry a team, but Kittle did just that. He had 13 catches for 151 yards and a touchdown, which made him the first TE in in NFL history to finish with at least 150 receiving yards AND a receiving TD in consecutive games.

Micah Parsons

Micah Parsons is the Cowboys' best defensive player, and that’s saying a lot this season with guys like Diggs and Gregory. Parsons sacked Heinicke in the first half against Washington which led to a defensive TD for the Cowboys and also gave Parsons a tie record for most sacks by a rookie in a six-game stretch. Against the WFT, he made five pressures, two total sacks, one forced fumble, and 17 pass-rush snaps. The guy is unstoppable.

Justin Herbert

Justin Herbert is a winner this week for his ridiculous cannon arm. Towards the end of the first half against the Giants, Herbert threw a missile pass just before getting hit that went about 65 yards in the air and Jalen Guyton caught it for a TD to give the Chargers a 24-7 lead. Herbert is now the only player in NFL history to throw 30 or more TD passes in each of his first two seasons.

Losers of week 14:

Rich Bisaccia

The Raiders embarrassed themselves from the start by having a pow wow on top of the Chiefs logo, which brought on plenty of boos from the Chiefs crowd. The Chiefs had the last laugh after the Raiders had five turnovers and at one point were losing 35 to nothing. The final score was 48-9. Rich Bisaccia was hired as an interim coach after Josh Gruden resigned, but he had the opportunity to prove himself worthy as head coach, and well…he has not done that and this embarrassing loss just further solidifies that.

Cam Newton

The Panthers are having a rough time in general. They swapped back and forth between Cam Newton and PJ Walker but finally benched Newton in the second quarter after he threw yet another pick-six. He also fumbled and lost the ball on a handoff after he tripped coming out from under the center. His comeback with the Panthers started off strong, but since then, the team has lost three straight games with him at quarterback, so his future is not looking so bright.

Zach Wilson

Zach Wilson just has not had a great rookie season at all, but on Sunday, the Jets lost 30-9 against the Saints, much thanks to Wilson coming up short. In the fourth quarter, he got stuck on 92 yards passing and then on the very last play of the of the game, Wilson ran to the end zone but was just short at the 1-yard line. Even Mike White and Joe Flacco have had their moments with the Jets this season, but Wilson? He’s a rookie with a lot of work to do. He finished the game with a 59.8 passer rating, which would’ve been even worse without the garbage time stats.
