Lakers can't keep up with DeRozan and Bulls

The Lakers saw great performances by LeBron James, Anthony Carmelo, and Isaiah Thomas. It still wasn't enough to keep up with DeMar DeRozan's 38-point game.

Update:

The Chicago Bulls outplayed the LA Lakers 115-110 on Sunday with a 38-point performance by DeMar Derozan.

The LA Lakers went into the game against the Chicago Bulls a bit shorthanded, with DeAndre Jordan the only healthy player at center. Several Lakers players, head coach Frank Vogel, and assistant Phil Handy were missing from the game due to health and safety protocols. It was a struggle for them as they gave up 16 offensive rebounds and had 19 turnovers.

Isaiah Thomas was back for his second game and got 13 points on 5-10 in 32 minutes for the Lakers. Carmelo Anthony also had a big game with 21 points and some defensive contributions. LeBron James was the star player for the Lakers with 31 points and 14 rebounds.

The Bulls were dealing with covid-19 issues of their own, this being the first game they'd played in a week after having to postpone several games. Due to that, the Bulls' star guard Zach LaVine was out, leaving DeMar DeRozan to fill in. The Lakers couldn't stop his midrange game and he finished with 38 points and six assists in the 115-110 defeat over the Lakers.
