CVS and Walgreens opening hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2021
For anyone in need of medication, a covid-19 rapid test, or any other product from the drugstore, be aware that CVS and Walgreens may not be open.
Those in need of making a last-minute trip to a drugstore like CVS or Walgreens should be aware of their holiday hours. Many have been making runs to these stores to pick up rapid tests before they see their family members.

Christmas Eve
Most locations will be open on December 24th but it is always best to call or check the hours of your store before leaving the house. Most stores across the US will be operating based on their normal store hours.
Christmas Day
On December 25th most CVS locations will be open on a limited hours basis from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. However, the hours vary by location, so again, we advise that you check with your store.
Walgreens
Like CVS, Walgreens is a great option for any last-minute Santa runs.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Walgreens will operate their normal business hours on both the 24th and the 25th.
The decline of the drug store
This year CVS announced major store closures. CVS will be closing 900 stores over the next three years due to "changes in population, consumer buying patterns and future health needs." These closures represent around nine percent of the retailer's locations.
After the closures, there will still be more than 9.000 locations scattered throughout the country. The company said that it will tailor its remaining locations to fit three areas of its business as part of a broader realignment of its services. “Our retail stores are fundamental to our strategy and who we are as a company," President and CEO of CVS Health Karen Lynch said in a statement.
Another drug store chain, Rite Aid, has also announced that they will be closing sixty-three stores telling CNN that they are making the move to "reduce costs, drive profitability and ensure that we have a healthy foundation to grow." The company also plans to switch the focus of its business away from "beauty and wellness" and smaller household appliances.
