West Bromwich Albion set to win the race to sign Daryl Dike

Daryl Dike impressed during his loan period at Barnsley at the EFL Championship earlier this year and he was named the club’s player of the month twice. He helped the Tykes make it to the playoffs and scored nine goals in 19 appearances during the regular season.

Premier League clubs were eager to sign Dike

With the winter transfer window approaching several clubs in the Premier League are keen to sign the United States international. Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Leeds have inquired with Orlando City about the price of Daryl Dike.

According to the latest reports, West Bromwich Albion are leading the race to sign the United States men’s international team striker next month. The Baggies have made an official approach to the MLS club to sign Dike on loan and make the move permanent next summer.

WBA would get the same deal that Barnsley got last season. Orlando will let Daryl Dike play on loan with the promise to make the move permanent if they obtain their spot in the Premier League next campaign. If not, they will return the United States international at the end of the current campaign.

West Brom has been following Daryl Dike since his short loan period in the Championship last season and the manager, Valerian Ismael, is keen to have him as they are looking to secure a playoff spot. Currrently they sit in fourth place, one point behind third, with a record of 11W-8D-4L.
