Barcelona president Joan Laporta tests positive for covid-19
Barcelona travel to take on Linares in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday before they travel to Granada to face Robert Moreno's side in LaLiga on Saturday.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta is the latest member of the club's staff to have tested positive for covid-19. The 59-year-old did an antigen test on Tuesday morning which came back negative, however, in the afternoon a PCR test he had taken came back positive.
Laporta will now miss the club's upcoming trips to Andalusia, as he will have to spend time isolating. Barcelona travel to take on Linares in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday before they go to Granada to face Robert Moreno's side in LaLiga on Saturday.
On Monday, Barça players Pedri and Ferran Torres both tested positive for covid-19. There has been a recent outbreak in Xavi's squad with more than half of the first-team testing positive over the last week. Barcelona still managed to record a 1-0 win away to Mallorca on Sunday thanks to Luuk de Jong's goal.
