Which teams have the top seeds in the NFC and the AFC?
The NFC is wrapped up with the king of the hill having been decided last week. The AFC on the other hand is coming down to the wire.
As we come to the end of the NFL regular season it's all about seeding in the two conferences. Let's take a look at how it breaks down.
Who's the top seed in the NFC?
The Green Bay Packers appear to be on a mission this season and a lot of it has to do with quarterback Aaron Rodgers who seems to be a very real candidate for MVP - it will be his second in a row if he wins it. With a record of 13-3, the Packers secured the No. 1 seed with a win over the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday night. While they may rest a few players when they face the Detroit Lions this Sunday night, the outcome of the game - win or lose - will have no effect on where they stand heading into the playoffs.
Following their date with Detroit, Rodgers and co. can look forward to a bye week in the first round of the post season, as well as the all too valuable home field advantage for the duration of the playoffs.
Who are the kings of the AFC?
Over on the other side of the NFL, things are little more intense in that the top seed will be decided on Sunday Night Football. The Kansas City Chiefs had a grip on the position until they lost in dramatic style to the Cincinnati Bengals. With that loss they paved the way for the Tennessee Titans to get back into contention.
Should the Titans beat the Houston Texans on Sunday night, they will take the top seed and with it a bye week and home field advantage to boot. That being said, the Titans are now under real pressure as the Chiefs won against the Broncos on Saturday night by a score of 28-24. If the Titans are unable to finish the job on Sunday then the spoils will in fact go to Kansas City. With that said, it's a case of now or never for Tennessee. Expect drama.
