The loss would be a major blow for the Blazers and their playoff ambitions, as they currently occupy 10th place in the NBA's Western Conference.

Both The Athletic and Yahoo Sports claim Lillard will undergo surgery on Thursday.
The time needed to recover and return to competition in this type of operation is usually six to eight weeks, but everything depends on a new medical evaluation that is performed after passing this first stage of recovery.

The regular season will end on April 10, leaving little margin in the count towards qualifying for the playoffs.

Lillard last played for Portland on December 31. He has missed 11 games this season due to abdominal pain that was aggravated during Team USA's winning campaign at the Tokyo Olympics in the summer of 2021.
