PSG not interested in selling Keylor Navas to Newcastle United
According to French outlet RMC, the Magpies made contact for the Costa Rican, but PSG were not interested in opening talks.
Newcastle United have been active in the January transfer window, already signing Kieran Trippier from Atlético Madrid and Chris Wood from Burnley. In recent days, Sevilla have rejected two offers from the Premier League side for their Brazilian defender Diego Carlos.
Navas tests positive
According to French outelt RMC Sport, the Magpies, recently acquired by new owners from Saudi Arabia, enquired about Navas this week. The Costa Rican, who tested positive for covid-19 ahead of PSG's match with Brest later on Saturday, is an important part of Mauricio Pochettino's side. PSG appear to be keen on keeping him at the club, with Gianluigi Donnarumma and the former Real Madrid shot-stopper as their two first-choice goalkeepers.
Happy at PSG
Navas has a contract with PSG until 2024 and has made 17 appearances this season in all competitions. Although Newcastle could offer him a bigger salary than the one he earns in Paris, he is reportedly entirely focused on finishing the season in Ligue 1.
