Nets superstar James Harden holds several NBA records; now he has overtaken Ray Allen's tally to set a new registry which he will be less happy about.

The Nets have been through their fare share of ups and down this season - first, with Kyrie Irving refused to get vaccinated - he is still unable to play home games. Kevin Durant still faces a few weeks out after spraining the medial collateral ligament in his left knee last month. At least there's James Harden, who continues to break records. The Beard has a long list of NBA records - he's the only player to record a 60-point triple-double, or to ping in at least 200 three-pointers and 700 free throws in a single season. Now he has another first, one he probably is less proud of, he is the player to have missed the most three-pointers in NBA history.

In total, Harden has missed 4,488 shots from beyond the perimeter line. He's overtaken the previous record holder, Ray Allen, now second on 4,456, followed by Jamal Crawford on 4,158 and Stephen Curry on 4,080. LeBron James is fifth with 3,943 fluffed three-pointers. Of course, to sink them, you have to throw them, but it's a curious registry nevertheless when considering the fortunes Harden and Brooklyn have been having this season. Putting in in context, it must be noted that he is the fourth top scorer in three-pointers in NBA history with 2,547. Curry, who overtook Ray Allen earlier this season, is first with 3,061.

Difficult season

It's not turning out to be one of Harden's best years - his production has dropped since the introduction of a new rule to stop players from foul-hunting. He turned down an offer to renew with the Nets and this summer he will be a free agent. Several franchises are interested in signing him but it is looking like the 76ers are at the front of the queue. Philadelphia tried signing him when he was at Houston, but Harden opted to join Brooklyn. At the Wells Fargo Center he would be the perfect partner for Embiid, who is carrying the team on his own while  Ben Simmons defiantly refuses to play - the Australian could play a key part if both franchises decide to negotiate a trade at the end of the season.
