USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner set to join Arsenal this summer

Matt Turner has been linked to a move to the Premier League for some time now and at 27-year-old he is about to make the switch to Europe for the first time. According to ESPN, the New England Revolution goalkeeper will sign with Arsenal and join them in the summer for the start of the 2022/23 Premier League season.

The deal is done

Per report, Turner already signed a pre-agreement with the Gunners and he is only waiting to receive his work permit so he can undergo a medical examination. The USMNT goalkeeper will travel to London in the summer to complete the move and leave the Revolution in the middle of the 2022 MLS regular season.

Turner is an experienced goalkeeper and he had a record-breaking season with the New England Revolution last campaign. The 27-year-old has yet to win the MLS Cup, but the story is different with the United States men’s national team.

He was voted the best goalkeeper in the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament and the Most Valuable Player in the last MLS All-Star game. Currently Matt Turner is getting ready for the start of the campaign with New England and their first match will be on 26 February against the Portland Timbers at the Providence Park.
