Tamer Hosny vs Snoop Dogg

And in case you missed this, just a little fun detail about the king of flow Snoop Dogg. And because your writer is a fellow Egyptian, sharing this post only made sense. Mr. “Calvin”, which is Snoop’s real name, was featured in a song alongside Egyptian singer, Tamer Hosny. Take a look :)

Mixed feelings, but one thing clear: this show was for L.A.'s people

Okay that's also true. Maybe I had mixed feelings about the performance because I had so much adrenaline going into it. But man, the message behind this whole show, the nostalgia, the legendary icons doing their thing, it all just matches the L.A. vibe, the people and all the hip-hop fans out there!

The Rams are Super Bowl champions!

On another note, the Rams are Super Bowl champions, in a very close game with the Cincinnati Bengals, who still put up a great fight

Super Bowl 56 Halftime Show: 12 minutes, 12 messages...

- This Super Bowl's halftime show was heavy on nostalgia and California bribes

- Eminem knelt at the end of his performance, appearing to flip a middle finger to the NFL.

- Eminem didn’t only serve up his “Mom’s Spaghetti” pop-up restaurant in L.A., but he also sang the song behind it all “Lose Yourself”

- Snoop Dogg can do a lot more than commercials, and talk shows. The guy’s got the dopest flow on earth.

- 50 Cent can somehow hold his weight upside down at 46 years old, sounding as good as always.

- Mary J. Blige can still a rock a solo performance and give us all the feels with “family drama”

- Blige is the only artist who returned to her second Super Bowl appearance.

- Kendrick Lamar didn’t only give a full rap performance, but he also gave choreography, stage performance, and live vocals.

- Lamar was expected to release new music this week, and his fans were devastated nothing happened about it.

- Snoop Dogg got sued a few days before the halftime show and no one talked about it.

- Dr. Dre ran the whole show, and didn’t make a dime

- Dr. Dre manifested the success of the Rams, meditated on it, and even made them win.

Eminem's big message of the night

Who else would decide to rebel at the Super Bowl halftime show than the most controversial of them all... Eminem?

While Los Angeles rap icons Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, as well as the singer Mary J. Blige delivered a lively performance, Eminem made the biggest statement of the night, in complete silence. The iconic rapper knelt on one knee and held his head in his hand after performing “Lose Yourself.”

The move was an obvious nod to former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who also took a knee during the national anthem at the 2016 season in a way to protest police brutality and racial inequity.  penalized, and drawing rebuke from the president at the time, Donald Trump.

None but the Marshall Mathers

We did need some drama at the halftime show, and who else but the most controversial to give it to us?

Apparently, the NFL ( or let's just say Roger Goodell) did not want Eminem to kneel during the appearance. But when you know you know... That's the Real Slim Shady for you.

Anyone wondering why Snoop Dogg performed at the halftime show

Honestly, this guy is just the most natural any human being can be on stage. So much flow, ease and confidence in every movement he makes, along with a voice that is so familiar and smooth. I did not want him to stop performing.

So anyone who was wondering why "Calvin" was chosen to be one of the artists for tonight, just remember this guy showed up in a blue n' yellow outfit, rocking his carpet outfit, making us all watch him.

as.com

Lamar's Dre Day!

Lamar's part and choice of song may have not flowed with the rest of the performers, but he did put on a creative show on his own, as he always does.

How the halftime show went down!

Okay, let me be as unbiased as possible.
Obviously, all 5 artists who performed at tonight's halftime show are super talented, and iconic in the hip-hop/R&B world.

But... I don't if we could see any of these artists' personalities during their performance, and definitely not their connection together.

Sure Mary J. Blige's moment was great, and her voice was as outstanding as always, but we couldn't see a moment of genuine happiness on the woman's face.

Eminem... is Eminem. It doesn't matter whether he's rapping in his studio, mum's kitchen, or at the Super Bowl. He's always the definition of "what you see is what you get", so I actually thought his part singing "Lose Yourself" was great, but maybe the lead up onto his part could have been more smooth.

Snoop Dogg was happy, shining, comfortable in his shoes, and with more rhythm than ever. That's all great, but it would've been nice to see that sort of calm and charm with the rest of his fellow artists.

Dr. Dre looked very much like the producer of the show, which is part of why we lost the feels of that performance. I mean why would Kendrick Lamar pick a DRE song that completely toned down the hype?

50 cent's "In da club" moment was refreshing to have.

7 out of 10 2022...

as.com

7 out of 10 for the biggest sporting event show!

Hmm... I have a feeling this was more about Dr. Dre than about actual music. Mary J. Blige's "Family Affair" was the best of the night, and one of the more expected. Thanks Mary!

Lamar was my biggest disappointment though! The choice of song was not really one that continued the adrenaline pace.

Eminem is always a delight to listen to because, well, what you hear everywhere is what you get.

And Snoop Dogg is seriously born to be on stage, but I don't think he had enough of a moment to show-off his personality.

as.com

Dre, Snoop, Lamar, Eminem and Mary J. Blige finish off the halftime show

Dre and Snoop are back together, with the rest of the pack joining them on stage. This time not only playing the piano chords for the D.R.E, but actually rapping the song out.

as.com

Mom's Spaghetti is in SoFi!

Okay for a second I thought we lost the rhythm of the show, but Eminem is bringing it back with my favorite, "Lose yourself"! I could hear these lyrics 100 times and still be ready for it again. The 49-year-old is sounding crisp with his usual hoodie, as Dre plays with some vocals in the background.

as.com

Lamar has made his entrance

And here comes the most influential, Kendrick Lamar, with his pack of DREs. The real rap has started with the 34-year old dressed in all-black.

as.com

50 cent's different perspective

Wow, indeed.

as.com

Thanks Queen

Mary J. Blige's voice is just.... something else. Can't tell it's been 21 years woman! She's really looking glamorous in her mirror-silver outfit, adding some feel to the stage. And here's a scream!

Queen made her entrance in all silver!

The next artist coming in is the one and only.... the QUEEN

50 cent joins Dogg and Dre

And here comes "California" as Dre and Dogg welcome everybody to the Wild wild west. Classic for the second song of the halftime show.... California does know how to party, leading up to 50 cent joining the shack

Why is Mary J. Blige performing at the halftime show?

I could just be repeating information here, but in case readers haven't scrolled down, here is a fact we wanted to reinstate again:

Mary J. Blige, who is 51, has won nine Grammy Awardsfour American Music Awards, and twelve Billboard Music Awards and has sold over 50 million albums.

For all those wondering why is Blige performing at the biggest sporting event in the U.S., the woman is not only known as the Queen of hip-hop soul because of her voice and lovely beats, but she's also the only one attending her second Super Bowl appearance

Blige is undeniably one of the greatest and most known singers of her generation

What would perfect musical set be for halftime show?

We are now approaching the halftime show, which includes five all-star rap/R&B artists, and we want to enlighten you with all the tracks we think will be played tonight, from Mary J. Blige's hip-hop beats, to Kendrick Lamar's pumped rap.

To start the show:

Dr. Dre ft Snoop Dogg- "Still D.R.E"

One of the biggest hits from 1999, and the song we all know WILL BE PLAYED, is Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s anthem “Still D.R.E.” The opening piano chords have been the centerpiece of almost every halftime ad and have just been iconic in the world of hip hop. Just imagine the halftime show kicking off with that beginning…

To end the show:

2pac ft. Dr. Dre- California Love

There’s just no better way to end a Dr. Dre Super Bowl than with the main man welcoming everybody to the wild, wild westThe only Hot 100 No.1 to refer to Inglewood by name is literally the most logical song ever made for a Super Bowl that’s gathering 5 artists who all have ties to LA.

What is Snoop Dog's net worth?

And in case you're wondering what has Snoop Dog really done with his career, here's an article that can you help you understand the West coast icon's net worth.

Just a big ol' pup!

Snoop loving his poochy pals at the Puppy Bowl. In case you missed it, Team Fluff beat Team Ruff 69-66. This year's bowl saw more than 100 adoptable puppy players from 67 shelters and rescues from a total of 33 states, according to Discovery. Why did Eminem call his restaurant "Mom's Spaghetti" ?

Eminem, who will be holding his breath as he performs tonight, will not only be serving us with his performance, but he's also serving a special pop-up for his "Mom's Spaghetti" restaurant.

And in case you didn't know the reason behind that name, here is a little clip for you with the song behind it all! It'll all make sense if you wait for it, I promise... Just watch

Dr. Dre runs the day

Dr. Dre, legendary rapper and producer leads the way with a collection of his all-time collaborators that we'll mention below.

Dr. Dre is a cultural icon in L.A., who, by the way,  claimed that he manifested the success of the Rams, produced several songs for each of the three artists joining him on stage: Mary J. Blige's "Family Affair", Eminem's "This is Me", and Snoop Dogg's "Gin & Juice".

He basically discovered Eminem, who then became one of the most controversial and best-selling artists of the 21st century.

Sean Mcvay and Zac Taylor are the most inspiring part of my day

I'm trying to talk mostly halftime show here, but I can't help not talking about the two young coaches we're seeing at SoFi Stadium right now. Ram's Sean McVay and Bengals' Zac Taylor are both in their 30's, setting an example in the NFL and the rest of the sporting world, that if there's a will, age and inexperience do not impede the way!

as.com

HERE HE IS! Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson!

Millions to spend, but nothing in return

Difficult to believe, but all the halftime show artists are not being paid for their performance, even though Dr. Dre has spent millions out of his pocket to make tonight's show as magical as we imagine it.

The legendary rapper, who has produced probably a lot of songs we'll be hearing tonight from Mary J. Blige and Eminem to Snoop Dogg, hasn't only put together these artists, but he's also brought in two deaf rappers, Sean Forbes and Warren Snipe, marking the first time sign language interpreters are included at the Super Bowl.

The reason why Dr. Dre is running the whole show!

Dr. Dre produced several songs for several of the artists who will be there tonight, including Mary J. Blige’s “Family Affair”, Snoop Dogg’s “Gin & Juice”, Eminem’s “My name is” as well provided vocals for “The Real Slim Shady”. And while Dre did not produce any of Kendrick Lamar’s songs, he was an icon who inspired his career.

For starters, Snoop’s real name is Calvin… yeah I’m not sure how I feel about that, but it’s good to know. The West coast legend is also a rapper, song producer, actor and media personality, whose fame dates to 1992 when he made an appearance in Dr. Dre’s debut solo album “The chronic).

The most influential artist at the half-time show

The youngest artist to be performing tonight is also one of the most influential rappers of his generation, Kendrick Lamar.

Not only is he the first hip-hop artist to win a Pulitzer Prize, but he’s also one who’s made a big impact in his culture, helping homeless women and children and donating money to the red cross, winning a Cali State Senate generational icon Award in 2015.
