Update:

An icon of NASCAR, Kevin Harvick, has sold his iconic mansion in south Charlotte for an eye-watering fee, just shy of $10 million.

According to Mecklenburg County real estate records, Harvick and his wife, DeLana, sold their home off Carmel Road, situated between Sharon View and Fairview road, for $9.825 million. The couple had owned the property for over a decade, having purchased most of it in 2014 for approximately $3.3 million and originally listed at $12.5 million.

Built in 2003, the mansion, a renovated 9,157-square-foot primary home, is the centrepiece of a gated 4.48-acre lot. White the estate has a pool house and separate guest dwellings, the property itself boasts six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and three half bathrooms.

Other luxury amenities include a theatre in the main house, a gym, arcade, golf simulator, and kitchen in the guest house, as well as a full kitchen and indoor/outdoor dining space in the pool house. The outdoor space offers a putting green, pool, grilling area, fire pit, and multiple terraces and porches.

‘It’s absolutely a once in a lifetime property’

“We actually had a lot of interest initially and then decided to pull it for the holidays,” Heather Gibbs, the listing agent, said in an email to Charlotte Business Journals. It’s absolutely a once in a lifetime property. (The) sellers did an incredible job. Putting the parcels together and building this estate. They are excited for the next family to enjoy.”

CBJ report that “the Harvicks have other properties in the Charlotte area, including their notable purchase of a Cornelius mansion made famous by its appearance in NASCAR spoof “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.” They bought that Lake Norman estate in October 2023 for $6.75 million."
