Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis out 2 weeks due to ankle injury
Lakers’ forward Anthony Davis has had it rough this season, with another injury sustained during Wednesday’s game vs Utah Jazz, and might be out for 2 weeks
The Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis sustained an ankle sprain in Wednesday’s game against the Utah Jazz, and is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks.
What happened to Davis in the Lakers vs Jazz matchup?
In Los Angeles’ 106-101 win against Utah, the 28-year-old forward was pulling down a rebound in the air when he twisted his right ankle after landing on Utah’s Rudy Gobert’s heel. He was immediately on the floor with his rolled ankle.

Minutes before the unfortunate event, Davis collected 17 points, two rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 17 minutes.
Moments after, Davis was helped off the court as he was unable to step on his right foot. Lakers coach Frank Vogel told reporters that it’s now about winning as much as possible, “we can’t feel sorry for ourselves. We don’t know obviously how long it will be, but we gotta win as many games as we can down the stretch and believe in the group that we have. And hopefully we’re able to get whole as quickly as possible,” said Vogel.

Anthony Davis’s injury-plagued season
It has not been easy for Davis, who has just been plagued with one injury after another this season. The eight-time All-Star, who is averaging 23.1 points and 9.7 assists in 37 games this season, was already listed as “probable” for Wednesday’s game because of his wrist injury. And before that, he had returned from a 17-game absence, on Jan. 23, due to a serious knee injury he had sustained.
Last season, Davis also missed loads of time because of his calf and knee injuries.
The frustrated forward has averaged 23.8 points and 10.2 rebounds in 601 career games (596 starts). And his team, the Lakers (27-31), return to action on Feb. 25 against another Los Angeles team: the Clippers.
