Stephen Curry sets three-point record in the NBA All-Star game

Curry, playing for Team LeBron in the NBA All-Star Game drained three after three to set a new record of 16. He also won the Kobe Bryant trophy for MVP.

Steph Curry, the greatest three-point shooter in the history of basketball set a new record for three-pointers in this evening’s All-Star Game, between Team LeBron and Team Durant.

He finished the game on 16 three-point baskets from 27 attempts. At the end of the third quarter Curry had nailed 15 three-point baskets from 21 attempts, but he was only able to add one more in the fourth quarter as the teams sought to reach 163 points and win the game.

In the first half Curry shot 8-for-11 on three-pointers, a single half record, and then in the third quarter went into overdrive, slamming home another seven, with a couple coming from the half-court line.

The previous record number of three-pointers in an All-Star Game was nine, from Paul George in the 2016 All-Star Game.

Curry just failed to beat Anthony Davis’ record of 52 points in an All-Star Game, finishing the game with 50 points. LeBron James threw the winning basket to end the game 163-160.

Curry topped off his night by picking up the Kobe Bryant trophy for the All-Star Game MVP. "It's pretty special," he said as he was awarded the trophy.
