United team news

Edinson Cavani (groin injury) and Scott McTominay (illness) missed Saturday’s draw at home to Watford. The latter returned to training on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if the Uruguayan will be passed fit to make the squad for today's match.

It was also mooted on Sunday morning that both Ronaldo and Varane would also miss the derby through injury.

City team news

Guardiola has a couple of injury concerns to deal with in defence. Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias had to be substituted due to problems during the victory over Peterborough. After the match, the City manager said: "Nathan finished bad in the action when he got the yellow card and Ruben was not feeling good in his leg. That's why, for caution and to be alert, we made the substitutions."

Guardiola has since confirmed that Dias will be out for between four and six weeks due to a muscular injury, which is a blow for City at the heart of their defence.
