Manchester City - Man United: Premier League live online

Worrying for United fans in the way their side capitulated in the second half after the Mahrez goal. Nothing from the Red Devils against a rampant Manchester City side who extend their lead in the Premier League to six points over Liverpool.

All over in Manchester and an emphatic second half performance sees City outclass United

The goal stands and it's 4-1

VAR looking again and the goal does look legal

De Gea seems to be in trouble too

The ball is in the net but the flag is up against Mahrez

90

City almost make it 4 as Gundogan screws his effort wide.

89

United have pretty much thrown in the towel as they have been outclassed by City. Zero reaction from the men in red to the third City goal.

87

City fans doing the 'Poznan' as they enjoy a comfortable win (with 4 minutes to go) ... But United really haven't laid a glove on the sky-blue side in this second half.

85

Cries of 'Ole, Ole' now from the City supporters as they outpass United. A sobering second half for the red side of the city of Manchester. Five minutes remain.

82

Wonderful stuff from City as Foden finds Cancelo and the Portuguese player forces a fine save from De Gea after a sublime bicycle kick.

Gundogan comes on with De Bruyne making way

The win and (at present) no injury concerns is ideal preparation for City ahead of Wednesday's UCL clash against Sporting CP. City have one foot in the 1/4 final with a 0-5 win in Lisbon in the first leg.

Second half possession stats: City 73%-23% United

Shots on target: City 8-2 United

Aguero enjoying the Manchester derby !

Very difficult to see a way back for United with less than 20 minutes left on the clock.

De Bruyne corner and the Algerian catches the ball sweetly with a slight deflection leaving De Gea helpless.

Mahrez volleys home from a corner to make it 3-1

68

City dominating proceedings totally now with Ederson making one, maybe two interventions in this second half.

Double change for United: Elanga off-Rashford on... Pogba off and Lingard on

Magurie carded for a rash challenge on De Bruyne

63

Mahrez and De Bruyne over the ball...The Belgian strikes and De Gea saves

Danger for United as they win a free on the edge of the Red Devils box as Foden was clipped

City ahead in terms of possession after the 60 min. mark

Rashford starts to warm up for United and it's only a question of time before the
England striker is introduced ...possibly for Elanga who has been discreet this afternoon.

57

Zinchenko warms up for City and gets a loud round of applause from the City fans.

56

City still in control as Foden breaks into the box but solid United defending sees the danger averted.

53

Great play from Grealish (who has looked good today) as he finds Mahrez but the Algerian's effort is deflected wide for a corner.

53

McTominay and Fernandes combine well but the Portuguese player drills the ball far too close to the City keeper and the move breaks down. First danger from United in the second period.

It's all City now in the opening phase of the second half.

48

Foden fluffs his lines and neither shoots or crosses the ball after workimg himself into an excellent position.

Bruno Fernandes lucky to escape with no card as he clips Laporte.

46

City get the second half underway....

Teams returning to the pitch, first out the side in sky blue...

The whistle sounds for the interval after a bright half with City heading into the changing rooms with a 2-1 advantage.

Telles strikes and has a close range effort blocked by Stones. Good spell here from United ...

48

Maguire times his tackle well to deny De Bruyne as the Belgian marauded forward. United win a corner.

Confirmed, just 3 minutes of time to be added.

45

City just pass the ball around now patiently as we head towards the interval. We will have roughly 4-5 minutes of added time to allow for the medical emergency in the crowd.

41

United do well and work the ball to Sancho, this time the England international screws the ball high and wide. Good chance for United to have drawn level.

41

Pogba gives the ball away cheaply and City break, De Bruyne feed Foden and the local lad pulls the ball wide of De Gea's goal.

36

The stoppage appears to be a brief one and the match official is poised to resume the action. Drop ball and we're back underway.

36

Game briefly held up as City fans behind De Gea's goal call the ref and players attention of a medical incident. Play temporarily suspended.

So, what can United do now. We've seen little from Elanga so for this afternoon and the former Malmo man will need to get involved.

The ball, pin-ball-ing around and eventually falls to the City captain who makes no mistake

City re-take the lead and it's De Bruyne who slams home after more hesitation in the United defence yet again.

United deserving of their equaliser on the balance of play one has to say

What a hit from Sancho,.... Great curling shot from the former Dortmund man finishing on a swift counter.... Great assist from Pogba too

18

Good shot from De Brune again as De Gea parries the ball back into open play as Maguire and Foden tangle and the decision goes United's way. The Belgian is a real threat every time he gets on the ball.

De Bruyne shoots from the edge of the box but his effort is blocked from a United defender.

United to be fair have responded well since the goal and have enjoyed the bulk of the ball in the past ten minutes or so.

Michael Oliver, incidentally is today's match official.

11

Past the 10 min. mark as United try to compose themselves after the early set-back.

Fred almost sneaks in for United but Ederson does well to parry the ball away from the danger zone.

5

Belgian captain De Bruyne fires City into an early lead as reacts quickly to a ball driven into the area with the United rear guard napping.

Liverpool fans cheering for United today ? A real possibility with a win for the Red Devils meaning that Guardiola's side would have just a 3 point lead over the 'Reds'

1

United set to start the action....

Both team captains Harry Maguire and De Bruyne too wearing blue and yellow armbands in a show of support for Ukraine.

The teams take to the pitch.... Both sets of players wearing 'No War' t-shirts! The message from football and the Premier League is clear !

Oleksandr Zinchenko starts on the bench

The Ukraine international will start on the bench for City today and speaking earlier this week to the BBC, confirmed that he would be fighting in the war to defend his nation from the Russian aggression in a very moving interview.

United manager Rangnick also confirms to Sky Sports that both Luke Shaw and French defender Varane have been ruled out via Covid.

The Ronaldo absence dividing United fans with many stating that the side play better without the Portuguese striker in the ranks.

Hip problem cited for CR7 absence

Speaking ahead of the derby, United's German manager confirmed that the Portuguese striker is suffering from a hip-flexor issue which has contributed to his omission from the team and squad ahead of the match.

CR7

CR7 mystery

Question marks surround Cristiano's absence from the United squad today with many outlets claiming that the Portuguese is injured and that is the reasoning for his absence from the derby. Other outlets claim that the striker is not injured but being sidelined by German boss Rangnick over disciplinary issues....

United team news

Edinson Cavani (groin injury) and Scott McTominay (illness) missed Saturday’s draw at home to Watford. The latter returned to training on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if the Uruguayan will be passed fit to make the squad for today's match.

It was also mooted on Sunday morning that both Ronaldo and Varane would also miss the derby through injury.

City team news

Guardiola has a couple of injury concerns to deal with in defence. Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias had to be substituted due to problems during the victory over Peterborough. After the match, the City manager said: "Nathan finished bad in the action when he got the yellow card and Ruben was not feeling good in his leg. That's why, for caution and to be alert, we made the substitutions."

Guardiola has since confirmed that Dias will be out for between four and six weeks due to a muscular injury, which is a blow for City at the heart of their defence.

In the last five Manchester derbies, both teams have taken maximum points twice and there has been one draw. United have come out on top in four of the last five matches at the Etihad. City have earned the bragging rights so far this season, winning 2-0 in the league at Old Trafford in November.

With the league title out of reach, United's objective is to secure a top four place that would ensure Champions League football at Old Trafford for the 2022-23 season.

City are 19 points ahead of their city rivals and hold just a three point lead of Liverpool who are in hot pursuit of Pep Guardiola's men.

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Manchester derby as United face City at the Etihad Stadium with a 17:30 CET/11:30 ET start.
