Will Ferrell makes Klay Thompson's dreams come true
The Warriors and Klay Thompson got a surprise on Tuesday when actor Will Ferrell showed up to shoot some hoops with the team ahead of the Clippers game.
The Golden State Warriors got a fun surprise ahead of their game against the LA Clippers on Tuesday when Will Ferrell showed up to warm up with the team. In Will Ferrell-style, he didn't show up in just any garb, but dressed in his Jackie Moon jersey and headband from the 2008 film "Semi-Pro".
It was a fun and light-hearted moment for the Warriors, who could use that after a five-game losing streak. The energy must have been encouraging because the Warriors ended up breaking the streak and beating the Clippers 112-97.
Why was Will Ferrell at the Warriors game?
So, what brought the famous actor to the game in the first place? Ferrell is a big Klay Thompson fan, and Klay Thompson is a big "Semi-Pro" fan. In fact, Thompson dressed up as Jackie Moon for Halloween three years ago, and said he watched the film several times when he was sidelined with an injury. So Ferrell wrote to coach Steve Kerr asking if they could come up with a plan, and that they did.
During the warmups, Ferrell took a half-court shot on his second attempt and passed it to Stephen Curry. He even kicked the ball to Curry, who hit a three-pointer to finish off the warmup. It was clear the team was having a fun time with Ferrel and for Thompson, it was a "dream come true."
