Sergiño Dest considering AS Roma move in the summer

Since Xavi took over at FC Barcelona, the United States international has struggled to see minutes and is considering a move in the summer.

Estados UnidosUpdate:
Sergiño Dest considering AS Roma move in the summer

Sergiño Dest has been very vocal about staying at Barcelona and making history at the club. So far this campaign the United States international has made 26 appearances across all competitions, but the reality is that since Xavi took over last November the 21-year-old has struggled to see minutes.

There were several teams inquiring about Dest during the winter transfer window, but he made it clear that he was going to stay at Camp Nou at least until the summer. Since then the USMNT defender has been slowly gaining the trust of Xavi with more playing time in the past months, but Dest is considering a switch next season.

Dest could join up with Mourinho

Also, the arrival of Dani Alves in January has not helped Dest earn more starts in LaLiga. According to Corriere dello Sport, the United States international is considering a move to Serie A side AS Roma. Dest has played 90 minutes in the last six games, but he is not sure what could happen next season with possibly new signings arriving to Camp Nou.

Xavi wants to keep Dani Alves for at least one more season and this would mean that Dest would have to come in from the bench if needed. Also, there are several rumors that Barcelona is keen on bringing Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui and Chelsea's captain César Azpilicueta in the summer and this will push Dest to pursue the Roma offer.
