LAFC academy player Nathan Ordaz called up to Mexico youth team
The Los Angeles FC academy player has dual citizenship and might choose to play for Mexico instead of El Salvador at the international level.
Nathan Ordaz is one of the most talented and promising players in the Los Angeles FC academy and it is expected that he will receive a call-up to the first team in the near future. At international level, Ordaz can play for Mexico, El Salvador or the United States.
The LAFC academy player received an invitation to train with the El Salvador national team in January ahead of the international window and he attended the call-up. It seemed that Ordaz could commit to El Salvador, but he has not made a decision yet.
Mexico trying to convince Ordaz
The coach of the El Salvador national team, Hugo Pérez, spoke highly of Ordaz during training camp and said that the LAFC academy player will have a bright future with the Central American team. But that future is in jeopardy with 'La Selecta' because Ordaz received a call-up from the Mexico U20 national team on Monday.
The 19-year-old, who was born in California, will join Mexico’s camp and is the only player from the US leagues that was included in the final roster. Ordaz will have to make a decision soon regarding his future at international level because three countries have set their eyes on him as he continues to improve.
