Who has been nominated and snubbed for Oscars 2022?

Fans of Lady Gaga and her performance in “House of Gucci” were when she didn't get a nomination. Jared Leto told Vanity Fair “It was a shock and a surprise,” that fellow star Lady Gaga was snubbed for Best Actress. Ridley Scott’s biopic only scored one nomination for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
Leto for his part, got bumped by surprise pick for Best Actor Javier Bardem playing Desi Arnaz in "Being the Ricardos". Likewise, Denis Villeneuve was snubbed for Best Director for his adptation of the sci-fi epic "Dune" by American author Frank Herbert.
With an impressive 12 nominations, Netflix Inc's dark Western "The Power of the Dog" leads the field of this year's Academy Award contenders, including one for the prestigious best picture gong. Surprise nomination "Drive My Car" is the first Japanese movie to compete for the top prize.

"Power of the Dog" will compete for the top prize with science-fiction epic "Dune," which scored 10 nominations; drama "Belfast," about a family living amid conflict in late 1960s Northern Ireland; deaf community film "CODA;" and "Don't Look Up," a satirical allegory about climate change.
Other best picture nominees included Japanese drama "Drive My Car," "King Richard," about the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams; coming-of-age story "Licorice Pizza;" thriller "Nightmare Alley;" and Steven Spielberg's remake of "West Side Story."
