Estados UnidosUpdate:
Atlanta United signs Chivas striker Ronaldo Cisneros

Ronaldo Cisneros will leave Liga MX side Chivas to play on loan at Atlanta United on loan until 7 July, with an option to extend the contract through the end of the 2022 season. If the Mexican striker reaches a certain amount of goals, the Five Stripes would consider making the move permanent and Cisneros could make his debut after the international break.

“We’re pleased to add Ronaldo and look forward to integrating him into the group,” Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said. “While we were already familiar with him, we were able to see him play in person during our preseason trip to Guadalajara. We like his profile, he can play direct and stretch the opposition, and has the versatility to play up top or on the wing as part of a front three.”

Cisneros knows what it is like to win titles

Cisneros scored 22 goals and provided seven assists in 121 appearances across all competitions in Mexican soccer, including the Liga MX, Copa MX and Liga de Expansión. Cisneros started his youth career at the Santos Laguna academy in 2011 and made his debut with the first team on 24 October 2014 against Pumas.

With Santos' senior team between 2014 and 2017, Cisneros scored four goals and won two Liga MX trophies and a Copa MX title. His best performance in Mexico’s top tier came on 13 September 2017, when he scored a hat-trick for Santos against FC Juárez in the Copa MX. Cisneros has also played for Club Atlético Zacatepec and Club Deportivo Tapatío.
