PSG player salaries: how much do Messi, Mbappé and Neymar earn?
French daily L'Équipe has revealed the salaries of the Paris Saint-Germain players, with Neymar the highest paid player in the squad.
L'Équipe has revealed the salaries of the 20 clubs in Ligue 1 and according to the French outlet, Lionel Messi is not the highest paid player in the PSG squad.
Neymar the top earner at PSG
Neymar is in fact the highest paid player at PSG, earning more than €4 million gross per month. Messi, on the other hand, is the second highest earner at the club with a salary of €3,375,000 million per month.
Messi's contract in Paris is undoubtedly lower than what he received in his last few years at Barcelona. At the Spanish club, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner earned €61 million a year. In L'Équipe's report, they show that Messi earns €25 million net per season in Paris, plus a loyalty bonus of €15 million gross, bringing his salary to over €30 million net.
Since Messi joined PSG last August, the club has signed a number of deals, including one for Fan Tokens, which is the club's cryptocurrency and it earns the Argentine €1 million. A recent deal with Crypto.com sees the current Ligue 1 leaders pocket between €25 million and €30 million per year.
Mbappé the third highest earner
Kylian Mbappé is the third highest earner at PSG after Neymar and Messi. The 23-year-old is on the same contract as five years ago, and he receives €2.2 million gross per month, a figure that would have increased if he agreed to sign a new deal at the club. Mbappé is followed by Marquinhos, with a salary of €1.2 million a month, the same as Italian midfielder Marco Verratti.
