Former champs in the Final Four

The Final Four teams have bought themselves a ticket to Caesars Superdome. First to reach the semifinals was No. 2 seed Villanova, who beat No. 5 Houston 50-44 to become champions of the South Region. The Wildcats were March Madness champions in 2016 and 2018.

Their Saturday win came at a cost- guard Justin Moore sustained an injury to his right leg in the last minute of the game. X-rays did not show that bones had been broken, but he will have more tests when the team gets home.

Record-setting appearance for Coach K's last year

Meanwhile, second-seeded Duke became West Region champions after besting No. 4 seed Arkansas comfortably with a 78-69 victory. Duke’s retiring coach Mike Krzyzewski guided the team to a record-setting 13th slot in the Final Four.

This is Coach K’s 42nd and final season with the Blue Devils. With their win over the Razorbacks, Krzyzewski has earned the record for the most Final Four appearances by any coach in the NCAA basketball men’s division.

Kansas shows off top-seeded form

No. 1 seed Kansas was the only top seed left in contention, and they showed why they were ranked first as they dominated No. 10 Miami to clinch the Midwest Region championship.

The Jayhawks trailed 29-35 after the first half, but limited the Hurricanes to only 15 points in the second to score a 76-50 win. This will be their 16th Final Four appearance.

UNC ends Saint Peter's Cinderella run

No. 8 UNC finally ended the Cinderella run of the 15th-seeded Saint Peter’s Peacocks, to clinch the East Region title with a convincing 69-49 win. They have secured the last slot of the NCAA Final Four.
