Luka leads Mavs to another win over Bucks

The Bucks defense couldn't wear down Luka Doncic, who put up 32 points, eight rebounds, and 15 assists in the Mavericks win over Milwaukee.

Update:

The Milwaukee Bucks tried their hardest to put Luka Doncic into pick-and-roll situations and wear him down, but Doncic made the right decisions every time, putting up 32 points, 15 assists, and eight rebounds in the Dallas Mavericks 118-112 win over the Bucks. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 28 points. The Mavericks win puts them just a bit closer to sealing home court advantage in the playoffs.

Despite Luka's strong scoring, the Mavs' defense wasn't looking so hot in the first quarter, allowing the Bucks 33 points on eight of 16 shooting from deep. They got their act together by the second quarter, though, holding the Bucks to just 22 points and putting up 32 of their own and were up by two going into the half.

Going into the second half, the Mavs were aggressive and fast-paced. They were up by nine points before the Bucks decided to make a comeback. Late in the third quarter, the Bucks took back the lead after a 14-0 run. That's when the Mavs stole it back and didn't slow down again. By the end of the fourth, they were in the lead and Doncic was on fire. He scored 11 points and had three assists in the fourth, including a three-pointer right over the top of Giannis' head.

Despite Milwaukee's drop coverage, the Mavs shot 53% on above the break three-pointers in the first half. The Mavs' shooting started to slow down a bit in the fourth, but the Bucks still couldn't keep up, going just three for nine on three-pointers and four of 11 in the paint.

The Mavericks have just three games left in the regular season. They will travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET. followed by two home games against the Portland Trail Blazers and the San Antonio Spurs.
