This year’s British Academy of Film and Television Awards, widely known as the BAFTAs, have been dominated by “Conclave”, a film about the election of the Pope which earned 12 nominations. The closest contender to the most nominations was “Emilia Pérez,” which managed 11.
After that, period drama “The Brutalist” got nine nominations while Irish-language film “Kneecap”, a film depicting the rise of the Irish hip-hop trio from Belfast, has seen 6 nominations. The awards ceremony will take place on February 16 at London’s Royal Festival Hall, and will be hosted by former Dr Who star David Tennant.
