Aerosmith announces farewell to the stage with its ‘Peace Out’ tour after 50 years on the road
The band will perform 40 concerts from September in Philadelphia, until January in Montreal.
Aerosmith is heading on their final tour, fittingly titled the ‘Peace Out’ tour, as the band announced this was their swan song.
The group still has 40 concerts to perform, from September in Philadelphia, until January 26, 2024 in Montreal.
However, the drummer will not be present in this last tour.
The Black Crowes are scheduled as Aerosmith’s opening act.
Is this the end of Aerosmith?
After more than half a century of career, the American-based band Aerosmith, led by Steven Tyler, announced Monday its farewell tour, ‘Peace Out’ will begin in September.
“After 50 years, 10 world tours and more than 100 million fans.... It’s time for one more before we go!” Tyler shared on his Instagram.
The classic rock band formed by Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (lead guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums) will perform 40 concerts from September 12 in Philadelphia, in the United States, until January 26, 2024 in Montreal, in Canada.
Aerosmith will be accompanied by The Black Crowes, who will act as the opening acts on that tour that will include cities such as Boston, New York, San Francisco and Seattle, among others.
“It’s kind of an opportunity to celebrate the 50 years we’ve been around. You never know how much longer everybody’s going to be healthy enough to do this,” Perry told Fox News about the members of the group, all of whom are over 70 years old.
The band, founded in Boston in 1970, has announced in a statement that Kramer will not participate in the tour because he is focused on caring for his family and his health.
Does Aerosmith have any new music?
The band has not released a new album since the 2012 release of ‘Another Dimension!!!’, the fifteenth album in their career.
In May 2022, Aerosmith canceled part of their Las Vegas residency because of Tyler’s relapse into drug addiction.
