The 2026 edition of the Met Gala, an annual fundraiser widely viewed as the most prestigious event in fashion, is to be held at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday May 4. First staged in 1948, the Met Gala attracts a host of celebrity attendees, who dress according to a set theme - usually sporting bespoke creations crafted by top fashion designers.

The cost of tickets to the Met Gala 2026

Every year, the Met Gala raises millions for the museum’s Costume Institute, which organises an annual spring exhibition whose opening coincides with the benefit event. Money is raised for the Costume Institute through the sale of tickets for the star-studded gala.

This year, media outlets are reporting that ticket prices cost around $75,000 per person. This year, the cost of entry has increased again. Tables in 2026 cost around $350,000.

The celebrities who grace the Met Gala red carpet do not generally pay for their tickets to the event. They are invited by designers and brands, who buy their guests’ seat at a table.
