Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler sued for alleged sexual assault
The singer faced similar claims in 2022, with both accusations dating back to incidents which took place in 1975.
One of the most iconic voices in American rock is back in the news...for all the wrong reasons. A sexual assault lawsuit has been filed against Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, who has already been at the centre of similar allegations in the recent past. Last year, Julia Holcomb, also known as Julia Misley, claimed she became pregnant by the singer in 1975 at the age of 17 and was pressured into having an abortion.
Aerosmith lyrics argument
The latest accusations also date back to the same year, when model Jeanne Bellino, who was also 17 at the time, alleges she was assaulted twice by the I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing singer. As reported by Page Six, who have obtained a copy of the lawsuit, the plaintiff claims the incidents took place after an Aerosmith gig. Bellino and a friend had planned to split the cost of travelling back to their home in Queens, New York until her friend instead convinced her to go to the Warwick Hotel with the band.
The document claims that, on the way, the pair came across Tyler and “around a half a dozen people who appeared to be bandmates and other people affiliated with Aerosmith” and started walking down 6th Avenue in Manhattan. Everything was civil until Bellino and the singer got into an argument about a song lyric.
Tyler’s two alleged assaults in one night
“Tyler became visibly irritated by Plaintiff’s question, then suddenly Tyler grabbed Plaintiff by the hand and forced her into a phone booth,” the lawsuit states. Bellino alleges that he then “stuck his tongue down her throat” and “put his hands upon her body, breasts, her buttocks and her genitals, moving and removing clothing and pinning her against the wall of the phone booth.”
It is then claimed the frontman “was humping her” and “pretending to have sex” with her, while the rest of the crowd were standing outside laughing. “Tyler forcefully inserted his tongue into Plaintiff’s mouth, without her consent. Tyler’s penis was erect and it was evident to her as he rubbed it against her that he was not wearing underwear and wearing thin pants.”
Tyler, at the time 27, is said to have then “suddenly stopped” and left the booth, with Bellino “putting her clothes back together”. The rest of the entourage continued walking to the hotel as if nothing had happened and the plaintiff, despite her “shock and fear,” followed, depending on her friend to get home.
Purported victim flees New York hotel in taxi
Upon arrival, however, the lawsuit states that Tyler isolated and assaulted her for a second time after pinning her against a wall. Once more, with Bellino resisting, the singer allegedly stopped abruptly before whispering in her ear, “I’m going in my room to do something quick.”
With Tyler now gone, the plaintiff states she was left “sobbing and afraid” in the hotel lobby, when the phone started ringing. One of the Aerosmith star’s entourage answered and told “Okay, you can go up to his room.” The document states that Bellino managed to race towards the hotel door and, with the help of a hotel doorman, flee in a taxi.
Tyler denied all allegations made it Holcomb’s 2022 lawsuit and has so far refused to comment on these new accusations.
