Age is just a number for Hootie and the Blowfish singer Darius Rucker: Meet his 33-year old fiancée Emily Deahl
The singer announced his engagement to Emily Deahl on Wednesday: “Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known”.

Love is in the air once again for Darius Rucker. The Hootie and the Blowfish frontman shared the happy news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, he popped the question to his girlfriend Emily Deahl, and the two are now officially engaged.
The couple prefer to keep their personal lives private and out of the public eye but it is believed that they had been dating for a couple of years. The relationship was only confirmed by the country star last month.
Emily Deahl, the singer-songwriter and dancer
Like Darius, Emily was born and raised in South Carolina. She moved to Los Angeles when she was 16 and now splits her time between Nashville (for her singing career) and London, where Darius has made his base for now, although he has said that he is heart will always remain back home in Charleston.
While her personal life is kept under wraps, we do know something about Emily’s professional life. She works as a lifestyle content creator, publishing reels such as “Daily Negotiations With Myself” on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
Like Darius, Emily is also a singer-songwriter and has around 7,500 monthly listeners on Spotify where her 2019 single Ew, has racked up over 1.6 million plays. She describes her music as “story-telling focused pop with dark, theatrical ties”.
There was a year-long tour in China “dancing to EDM-y pop music, with a DJ and backup dancers” which was enjoyable - to a point. She admits that by the end of it, she “was really sick of feeling like a prop and not an artist.”
Rucker was previously married to Beth Leonard for 20 years. They have two children, Daniela and Jack. Darius announced that he and Beth had “consciously uncoupled” in July 2020 but remain on good terms. He also has a daughter from a previous relationship with Elizabeth Ann Phillips.
Hootie and Blowfish are working on material for a new album and are back on the road in the New Year, and have been confirmed as one of the main acts at the Stagecoach 2026 festival at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California in April.
