Are Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson brothers?

Matthew McConaughey and his long-time friend and fellow actor Woody Harrelson actually might be related.

The ‘How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days’ actor revealed how close the two men and their families are — and that family members have even mistaken the men for one another in photographs.

This led to the revelation that the two may indeed be related, and the investigation began.

Matthew McConaughey reveals family history

The blue-eyed, blonde-haired pair are currently working on their new television series, ‘Brother from Another Mother’, and McConaughey is getting personal while making his promotional rounds.

The 53-year-old actor recently joined Kelly Ripa on her SiriusXM podcast ‘Let’s Talk off Camera’, where he released information on more than his new film.

McConaughey said that his children call Harrelson their uncle, and vice versa — but it turns out there is substantial evidence the family dynamic is a reality and not merely a bromance.

“Where I start and where he ends and where he starts and I end has always been a murky line, and that’s part of our bromance, right?” McConaughey told Ripa. “My kids call him Uncle Woody, his kids call me Uncle Matthew.

“My family thinks a lot of pictures of him are me, his family thinks a lot of pictures of me are him.”

The ‘Dazed and Confused’ actor quickly got to the core of the matter, recalling a time in Greece when the truth came out. They were at a dinner with McConaughey’s mother, who talked about a time she knew Harrelson’s father while she was divorced from McConaughey’s father.

“In Greece a few years ago, we’re sitting around talking about how close we are and our families and et cetera and my mom is there,” McConaughey recalled.

“And she says, ‘Woody, I knew your dad.’”

The ‘Interstellar’ actor explained that it went further than that, as the two had left a paper trail.

“Then, there’s possible receipts placing them out in West Texas where there might have been a gathering or a meeting or a ‘knew’ moment,” McConaughey shared.

Will they make it official?

Ripa asked if the friends and potential brothers have taken a DNA test to find out if they are biological half brothers.

“This is what we’re on the precipice of now,” McConaughey said. “It’s a little easier for Wood to say ‘come on, let’s do it,’ because what’s the skin in it for him?”

“It’s a little harder for me because he’s asking me to take the chance to go ‘wait a minute, you’re telling me my dad may not be my dad of 53 years’ and believe in it?”

“I got a little more skin in the game.”
