Bad Bunny apologizes to Harry Styles during Coachella set
Bad Bunny and his team issued an apology following a tweet that was displayed at the singer’s Coachella performance last week.
Bad Bunny and his team issued a formal apology to Harry Styles in regards to a tweet displayed during his Coachella performance last week.
The tweet seemed to be a diss aimed at Styles’ musical talent, but Bad Bunny and his team have since clarified that they meant no ill intentions.
As his Coachella set came to a close on Friday night, a note read: “Sorry Harry, it was a mistake from my team. We love you. <3″
What did the original tweet say?
The original tweet read, “goodnight benito could do as it was but harry could never do el epagon.”
The implication seemed to be that Bad Bunny could have written Styles’ popular song ‘As It Was’ due to its musical artistry, but Styles could not have written Bad Bunny’s hit song ‘El Apagón’.
The tweet has since been deleted.
Bad Bunny did not approve the tweet
A representative for the Puerto Rican rapper stated that the tweet was selected by the visual production team and not Bad Bunny, himself.
The team addressed the issue through a series of Instagram stories.
“Our intention is to create light hearted designs that embody Bad Bunny’s personality and amplify the experience he presents as a performer,” the statement read.
“The request from the artist during the visuals for ‘El Apagón’ performance was to use the image only and not text from the tweet, which we take responsibility for and correct it for Friday’s performance.”
They emphasized that the visuals are a “celebration of Bad Bunny and his dedication to empowering his native island, Puerto Rico.”
Bad Bunny attended a Harry Styles concert
The idea that Bad Bunny did not approve of the offending tweet is backed up by the suggestion that he may be a fan of Styles.
Fans would recall that Bad Bunny attended Styles’ concert in Los Angeles back in January.
