Billboard Music Awards 2023: full list of winners

Morgan Wallen claimed the most wins at the Billboard Music Awards this weekend, and it was also an excellent night for Taylor Swift.

Morgan Wallen led the way at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards, while Taylor Swift became the joint-most decorated artist in the gala’s history.

Wallen scooped 11 awards, including Top Male Artist and Top Country Artist, with Swift one behind on 10. Swift’s haul, which was crowned by her third Top Artist accolade, took the 33-year-old to 39 career BBMAs - level with Drake, who added another five to his tally this weekend.

Swift thanks fans after “unreal” BBMA haul

This is unreal,” Swift said as she accepted her 10 awards. “This is the fact, that you guys have given me ten Billboard Awards, I’m talking to the fans specifically, none of this happens without you.

“Billboards base everything off of what you are listening to, and what you’re passionate about and I’m so honored that this year you made the tour, the Eras Tour, so magical. You went and saw the movie, you cared about my recordings. I just like, I love you so much.

I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have you in my corner and caring about the music that I make.”

“I don’t have enough hands” for BBMA awards - Wallen

Meanwhile, Wallen said: “The last awards show I went to [the 2023 Country Music Awards earlier this month], we came home empty-handed. This one, I don’t have enough hands for them all.

“So either way, I promise I’m gonna stay the same, whether we come home with 10 or zero. I’m gonna give y’all my all, every single night and every time I go into the studio. All these awards are really, it’s for my fans. So thank you guys so much.”

How are Billboard Music Awards winners decided?

Billboard says its awards are decided by metrics such as “album and digital songs sales, radio airplay, streaming and touring”, as well as performers’ engagement with fans.

The year-long reporting period for the 2023 BBMAs ran from 19 November 2022 to 21 October 2023.
