Blake Lively trolls Ryan Reynolds over nail-biting Wrexham game

During the intense match on Sunday, Ryan Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively used the opportunity to troll him online.

It was a huge weekend for Ryan Reynolds, with his club Wrexham competing in the FA Cup. However, Blake Lively seemed to score in her ongoing trolling competition against her husband.

During the tension-filled weekend for Wrexham co-owner Reynolds, Lively took the opportunity to troll her husband during Sunday’s match.

“I bought espn+ today. Just to watch my husband experience crippling anxiety live. Worth it,” Lively wrote in an Instagram story that showed Reynolds looking distraught on the sidelines.

Just below, she added: “If you’re not watching this insane @wrexham_afc game right now you’re missing out on these vibes, They’re playing a team 3 leagues higher. And currently winning. Life makes no sense.”

The teams take over

The game Reynolds was pictured at was Wrexham’s fourth round FA Cup tie with Sheffield United. It proved a dramatic encounter as Reynolds’ team went ahead twice, only to concede a late equalizer that made it 3-3.

The two sides will now have to play each other again to decide who goes through to the fifth round.

Reynolds and fellow actor Robert McElhenney took over ownership of the team in February of 2021 in a $2.5 million deal. In 2021/22 the team finished second in the National League, but lost to Grimsby Town 5-4 after extra time in the play-off semi-final.

There is also an FX documentary series about the team’s transformation and the new ownership, which was released in August 2022.

The couple’s humorous history

Blake and Ryan, who share three daughters together and are currently expecting a fourth child, are known for their online trolling of each other.

In a 2019 interview with ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan Show’, Reynolds was asked about his relationship and whether he liked all the trolling.

“Oh yeah, we do once in a while,” said Reynolds. “It’s kind of like what my dad used to say, ‘If you can’t say anything nice, say something embarrassing.’ That’s how we roll. I think it’s a sign of a healthy relationship, personally. I do, yeah.”

When asked if his trolling ever gets him in trouble at home, he admitted: “I don’t really know. I think people kind of know [it ‘s a joke]…it gets me in trouble at home but, you know, I can handle that.”

Reynolds has yet to hit back at Lively’s latest online trolling, but with the couple’s extensive history of back-and-forth jokes, it’s more than likely to happen sooner rather than later.
