The 2023 Met Gala has come and gone, and it looks as though Choupette the Cat approves of all celebrities dressing like her.

This year’s event was an homage to the late fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld, with attendees asked to interpret the theme as best as possible.

One option was to dress like the spoiled feline, which Jared Leto and Doja Cat did. Their looks were met with approval by Choupette, who made that clear via her Instagram account.

“Do I have a twin somewhere ?! I rate @dojacat and @jaredleto outfits 100/10 😼What about you? How much would you rate them? Did you watch the met Gala?,” the cat’s official Instagram page wrote.

Doja Cat used special effects makeup to give her a more feline appearance at the Met Gala, while Leto arrived on the white carpet dressed in a furry replica of the cat with a removable head.

Leto’s costume was designed by SCPS Unlimited, with project manager Joshua Balster saying the idea came to them just weeks before the Met Gala was set to take place.

“We are known for being very tight-knit and not letting anything out,” Balster told the Guardian.

“We love what Jared does on the red carpet – he’s always super creative.”

The company even employed a smaller team than usual in order to make sure word of Leto’s costume didn’t spread.

“Because that was the big punchline – Jared wanted it to be super secret, and not let anyone know who the cat was until he revealed himself,” Balster explained.

Along with Leto and Doja Cat, Lil Nas X and Chloe Fineman also paid tribute to the cat.

The rapper wore crystals from head to toe, while also wearing beaded whiskers and long fingernails.

As for Fineman, she dressed in pink and carried a sparkly pink cat purse.

Choupette rose to prominence after she was adopted by Lagerfeld back in 2011, appearing in fashion magazines and collaborated with business since then.

Lagerfeld never hid his love for the cat, telling Numero magazine in 2019: “I like being calm, and my cat is a presence that counts but isn’t encumbering.

“She is peaceful, funny, fun, and gracious, she’s pretty to look at and has good poise, but her main quality is that she doesn’t talk.”
